2-Vehicle Collision at Fargo and 13th Avenues in Kings County
HANFORD, Calif. (Dec. 9, 2024) – A high-speed car accident left a woman dead on Sunday near Hanford at Fargo Avenue and 13th Avenue in Kings County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around midnight on Dec. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a 2021 Toyota 4Runner SUV and a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse were both trapped in their vehicles after the violent crash.
Authorities believe the man driving the Toyota was heading west on Fargo Avenue at high speed when the SUV came to a four-way stop intersection at 13th Avenue.
That’s when the SUV collided with the woman driving the northbound Chevrolet who had just entered the intersection.
Police say the Toyota didn’t stop at the stop sign and hit the Chevrolet at high speed.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of the woman from the Chevrolet at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota was conscious but had major injuries and was transported to Kaweah Health in Visalia.
Investigators are working to determine if drugs and or alcohol were factors.
