Fatality Crash on Highway 89 in Markleeville
MARKLEEVILLE, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2022) — At least one person is dead after a vehicle hit something and crashed Monday morning at State Route Highway 89 and Burnside Lake Road.
The collision occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 14th, near Pickett’s Junction in Alpine County, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch. The CHP dispatch stated it’s unknown what the vehicle hit before crashing.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but sadly there was a fatality. It’s unknown at this time if anyone else suffered injuries in the crash on Highway 89.
Meanwhile, Welcome’s Tow removed the damaged vehicle from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
