Deadly Crash on Needles (40) Freeway in Daggett
DAGGETT, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2022) — A fatal Daggett car accident happened early Friday on the westbound I-40 Needles Freeway, just east of Barstow.
The collision occurred on Needles Freeway about 4:29 a.m. on Sept. 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white sedan reportedly went off the freeway into a ditch, the report said. A semi-truck stopped following the crash, but it’s unknown if it was involved or if this was a solo collision.
Paramedics and firefighters with CAL Fire responded to help those involved. They extricated one person trapped in a vehicle and at least one person died at the scene. It’s unknown how many were hurt in the crash at this time.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
