STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. (July 26, 2023) — One man died in a two-vehicle car accident Tuesday night on Las Palmas Avenue, just east of Sycamore Avenue in Stanislaus County.
The collision occurred around 6:05 p.m. on July 25th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
CHP officials reported police responded to the scene involving a red Toyota pickup truck and a white Toyota Camry.
Both the pickup truck and the sedan were traveling westbound on Las Palmas Avenue. The driver in the pickup reportedly slowed down suddenly and was rear-ended by the sedan, KCRA reports.
The driver of the pickup truck veered off the roadway onto a dirt shoulder and struck a tree, police said.
Paramedics responded, but unfortunately, a man in the pickup truck suffered fatal injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
CHP officials are investigating, but do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
The Stanislaus County Department of Roads closed down Las Palmas Avenue to allow police to gather evidence for the investigation and remove the vehicles.
