FRESNO COUNTY, Calif., (May 14, 2026) — A tragic collision involving a white GMC pickup and a silver sedan resulted in a fatality on South Academy Avenue near East Dinuba Avenue early Thursday morning in Fresno County.

The collision occurred on May 14th at approximately 7:36 AM, with both vehicles reported to be on the right-hand side of the roadway. Initial reports indicated minor injuries, but the severity was later updated to a fatality by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at 9:02 AM.

According to the CHP, the incident transpired between Manning and Dinuba Avenues, littering the road with debris, including a bumper and other car parts across all lanes. The vehicles involved were identified as a white GMC pickup truck and a silver Toyota four-door sedan.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where they reportedly found a possible pin-in situation inside the gray Toyota involved in the crash. Despite the prompt response, the incident tragically resulted in a fatality, the details of which remain under investigation.
