Fatal Car Accident on Graton Road, Oak Grove Avenue, Near Santa Rosa
Teen Killed, Driver Injured in Solo Crash in Graton
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) — A 19-year-old passenger died in a fatal solo-vehicle car accident on Graton Road at Oak Grove Avenue, just west of State Route 116 in Graton.
The deadly crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. on Sept. 24th, approximately ten miles west of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
The victim was a passenger in a Toyota Camry sedan that was being driven at high speed, KRON 4 reports. The vehicle veered off the highway and collided into several trees.
The 19-year-old driver survived with major injuries from the fatal accident on Graton Road. Paramedics transported the injured driver to a hospital and the person was also placed under arrested on felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges. He was later identified as Pedro Lopezsantos.
The California Highway Patrol is piecing together what happened and the investigation is ongoing.
