Deadly Collision on I-80 Freeway in Placer County
AUBURN, Calif. (August 22, 2024) — One person died in a car accident late Wednesday night on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway, east of Highway 49 in Auburn.
The deadly crash occurred at around 11:55 p.m. on August 21st, just east of Nevada Street in Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP dispatchers received a 911 call reporting an SUV crashed into the center divider and a person was thrown out into the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway.
Meanwhile, a white semi-truck was pulled over on the right shoulder, but it’s unknown at this time if it was involved.
Finally, the Auburn Police Department is heading up the investigation into the Auburn accident on the 80 Freeway.
