Fatal Car Accident Stradley Avenue, Peterson Road in McFarland

Two-Vehicle Collision at Stradley and Peterson

McFarland, Calif. (March 24, 2025) — A fatal car accident occurred on Stradley Avenue and Peterson Road Monday between a car and a truck in the north McFarland area.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. on March 24, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a black Honda and a white roll-off truck were involved. The driver of the car reportedly drove through a stop sign while heading southbound on Stradley Avenue. She then crashed into a dump truck at Peterson Road.

The crash involved significant damage, including a front bumper detached from one of the vehicles.

The Kern County Coroner was called in to assist with the investigation after there was a confirmed fatality. Jessica Ledesma Sotelo, 22, of Delano, was later identified as the driver of the Honda who died.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
