At Least 1 Killed in Collision in Front of Korbel Champagne Cellars Thursday
Sonoma County, CA (October 7, 2021) – One person died following a car and bus crash that occurred on River Road near Guerneville.
According to the Press Democrat News, a Toyota Tacoma was heading west on River Road late Thursday morning. When the vehicle approached the 13250 block of River Road, the Toyota driver veered into the opposite lanes.
Officials said the pickup truck collided with a Sonoma County Transit bus. The force from the impact left the Toyota stuck underneath the bus. Officials said the collision took place in front of Korbel Champagne Cellars.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the driver of the Toyota but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Authorities added the driver of the bus, and six passengers all sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel transported the patients to the hospital for treatment.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car and bus crash near Guerneville in Sonoma County.
