At Least 1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on State Route 37 Thursday
Solano County, CA (December 30, 2021) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 37 Thursday, the ABC10 News reported.
Our sources indicated a big rig collided with several vehicles on the highway east of Mare Island in Solano County. The horrible crash took place at approximately 11:30 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found as many as five passenger vehicles hit by the truck. Preliminary investigation revealed the big rig first hit a Chevy truck, a Toyota Camry, and a Tesla Model 3. Officials said the truck then plowed through the concrete center median and drove into the eastbound lanes.
Authorities said the big rig lastly hit a Dodge pickup in the eastbound side of the highway. Debris from the collision hit a passing Infinity.
When emergency teams arrived at the site, they found the driver of the Dodge unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

Officials added the driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. An ambulance transported the patient to Sutter Solano Hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
The California Highway Patrol is the agency handling the investigation. Detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the fatal crash on State Route 37 in Mare Island.
