Woman Killed, 3 Seriously Injured in Highway 126 Accident in Piru
PIRU, Ventura County (January 9, 2018) – One person was killed, and several others were injured in a traffic collision on Highway 126 near Sharp Avenue Monday afternoon, according to KTLA.
Shortly after 4 p.m., a Mercedes-Benz reportedly spun out into eastbound lanes of the highway. The incident prompted a chain-reaction crash involving four other vehicles on both sides of the roadway.
Responding medical personnel immediately attended to the parties involved in the accident. As per the article, the female motorist driving the Mercedes-Benz was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, three other people were transported to hospitals where they were listed in critical condition. The names of the fatality, and the patients were not disclosed as of Tuesday.
The California Highway Patrol mentioned that adverse weather conditions likely contributed to the deadly accident. The westbound and eastbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed as authorities performed a thorough investigation of the wreck.
