1 Killed in Collision Near Yerba Buena Island
San Francisco, CA (April 6, 2023) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway early Thursday, April 6.
The NBC News published an article online reporting a collision that took place on the western span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. An unknown number of vehicles crashed into each other as they enter Yerba Buena Island.
Deadly Car Accident on 80 Freeway
Shortly after 2:02 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found one person suffering in life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the victim but they sadly succumbed to their trauma and eventually passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Police shut down all the eastbound lanes of I-80 to give way to the investigation process. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly crash on Interstate 80 at the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
