The crash took place at 4:44 p.m. on Ortega Highway between an SUV and a commercial vehicle.
It remains unclear how the crash took place and how many injuries resulted, however, it was confirmed that Garcia did not survive the collision.
The report did not indicate which vehicle the 51-year-old man as driving leading up to the wreck.
California Highway Patrol authorities are the investigating agency.
