3-Vehicle Collision on I-5 Freeway in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2023) — A fatal three-vehicle crash happened in Carlsbad Sunday night on Interstate 5 Freeway.

The crash occurred at around 9:57 p.m. on Oct. 22nd in the southbound lanes of the I-5 freeway at Cannon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Three vehicles collided including a dark sedan and gray pickup truck that both overturned in the No. 2 lane. The third vehicle was a Jeep that wound up facing the wrong way in the No. 4 lane, according to the Times of San Diego.

The CHP is heading up the investigation into the fatal crash on the 5 Freeway in Carlsbad.
