One Killed in Fiery Carson Crash
CARSON, Calif. (June 1, 2021) — A fatal Carson crash at Avalon Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Street on Memorial Day resulted in the death of one driver and injuries to the other.
Additionally, two vehicles crashed at the Carson intersection. The vehicle belonging to one of the motorists burst into flames, according to authorities.
The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 31st at Avalon Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Also, the driver and sole occupant of the burned vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the Carson crash on Avalon Boulevard, police said.
Meanwhile, the other driver suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision, however, investigators are reviewing surveillance video.
Police closed down Avalon Boulevard between University Drive to Elsmere Drive for hours to investigate the cause of the crash and liability.
