
Man Struck, Killed on I-5 Freeway in Castaic
CASTAIC, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2025) — Gabriel DeJesus, 31, died in a fatal pedestrian accident Tuesday night on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in Castaic.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers and paramedics responded to the scene around 8:14 p.m. on Feb. 4th and discovered the victim lying near the Parker Road exit.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics pronounced Gabriel DeJesus dead at the scene and he was later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The CHP issued a SigAlert to close down three lanes of the freeway due to the fatality, but the roadway reopened roughly three hours later.
It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision or if the motorists stopped.
Finally, the fatal Castaic pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
