The deadly crash occurred at around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 10th, south of its intersection with Victoria Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The Cathedral City man was struck in the roadway outside of a crosswalk due to unknown circumstances. He went down in traffic lanes and died within a few minutes of the crash.
The driver involved reportedly stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities do not suspect alcohol was a factor in the collision.
Meanwhile, police do not know why the victim was in the roadway at this time as there are sidewalks in the area and there is no marked crosswalk.
