CHICO, Calif. (May 30, 2023) — A fatal Chico pedestrian accident on Highway 99 happened Monday morning near Southgate Avenue.
The collision occurred on state Route 99 around 11:59 p.m. on May 29th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver struck the victim due to unknown circumstances. The motorist moved their vehicle to the right shoulder and called 911 for police and paramedics.
Paramedics responded to help the injured person, but sadly they died at the scene.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Chico pedestrian accident.
