2 Killed in Chino Crash at Schaefer and East End Avenues
CHINO, Calif. (July 7, 2021) — A fatal Chino crash happened early Wednesday at Schaefer Avenue and East End Avenue.
Three people were riding in a vehicle that crashed into a Chino home’s backyard swimming pool.
Two people in their 20s died shortly after a car crashed into a home’s backyard pool in Chino early Wednesday morning. A third person suffered serious injuries.
Additionally, the car reportedly struck a center median around 2:15 a.m., the Chino Police Department said in a written statement.
Upon impact, the vehicle went airborne and flew over the backyard’s wall. All three people were ejected in the crash.
Mareane Nunez Fatal Chino Crash
The Coroner’s officials later identified the woman who died at the scene as 21-year-old Mareane Nunez, of Norwalk.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported two others from the vehicle to a hospital where the 27-year-old man died soon after. The 23-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and remained at the hospital.
Investigators do not yet know what caused the car to crash into the median, but they continue to piece together what happened.
