Deadly Crash on Proctor Valley Road in San Diego County

EL CAJON, Calif., (July 8, 2026) — A fatal collision occurred Wednesday morning around 11:17 a.m. on Proctor Valley Road near Echo Valley Road in Jamul, in southern San Diego County.

According to the California Highway Patrol‘s incident log, the collision involved a vehicle that was impaled by a metal railing. Both directions on Proctor Valley Road were blocked as emergency responders, including the fire department, arrived on the scene. The initial report indicated the possibility of a fatality, which was later confirmed by authorities.

The crash occurred just west of Echo Valley Road, and the precise coordinates for the incident were provided as 32.702757 latitude and -116.901584 longitude. Emergency units were en route and on the scene shortly after the report was made, with the first responders arriving by 11:41 a.m.
