Fatal Crash on I-10 Freeway at Pepper Avenue in Colton
COLTON, Calif. (March 18, 2022) — A fatal Colton pedestrian accident happened early Friday on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Pepper Avenue.
The deadly crash happened about 4:52 a.m. on March 18th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in a white Ford Explorer SUV called 911 for help after his vehicle struck someone and then hit an exit sign near the right shoulder and off ramp. The motorist told CHP dispatch they thought they struck an animal in traffic lanes and noted there is blood on his vehicle.
Police confirmed there was a fatality and requested the coroner respond.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault.
