Fatal Concord Crash Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road

CONCORD, Calif. (May 21, 2025) — Amber Smith, 26, of Fairfield, died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Concord at Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road.

2-Vehicle Collision in Concord

The deadly collision occurred around 5:26 p.m. on May 21st, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Authorities say the Fairfield woman was driving a Ford westbound on Hess Road when she reportedly pulled into the path of an oncoming Toyota Sienna on Kirker Pass Road and the two vehicles collided.

Paramedics responded and confirmed one death and two injured. An unidentified 14-year-old boy who was a passenger in Amber Smith’s Ford suffered major injuries, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the Concord crash on Kirker Pass Road.
