Pedestrian Accident on I-15 Freeway in Corona Area
CORONA, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2020) — A pedestrian was killed in a collision Wednesday morning on northbound Interstate 15 in the unincorporated Temescal Valley area of Riverside County.
The collision took place about 1:20 a.m. near Temescal Canyon Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
The pedestrian was found in the No. 1 lane of the freeway. Witnesses told police that motorists were swerving to avoid the person in the roadway before paramedics arrived at 1:35 a.m.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The driver of a white vehicle reportedly struck the pedestrian and pulled over on the Temescal Canyon Road off ramp.
Police issued a SigAlert about 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
