At Least One Person Dies In Fiery Crash In Costa Mesa

Fatal Costa Mesa Crash 55 Freeway, Baker Street (Oct. 3)COSTA MESA, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2021) – A fatal Costa Mesa crash happened Sunday on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Costa Mesa.

At least one person died in the fiery single-vehicle crash when a driver crashed into a tree as they exited the 55 Freeway at the Baker Street off ramp.

The vehicle burst into flames when it slammed into the tree at unknown speed, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The traffic accident happened around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3rd, police said. At least one person died at the scene of the Costa Mesa crash.

Authorities did not provide the gender and age of the victim who died in the Costa Mesa crash on the 55 Freeway.

Also, the Orange County Sheriff Coroner will release the victim’s name after they notify family members.
