Deadly Pedestrian Accident on I-5 Freeway

COTTONWOOD, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2024) – A woman died in a fatal hit-and-run crash on the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway early Thursday morning near Gas Point Road in Cottonwood.

The fatal collision occurred at 2:24 a.m. on Oct. 3rd, according to Action News Now.

Police were alerted to the incident when someone called 911 to report they saw the woman down in traffic lanes near the shoulder of the freeway.

The woman suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene, but has not been identified.

However, the driver involved failed to stop and there are no details about the suspect at this time.

The fatal Cottonwood hit-and-run crash remains under investigation.
