Deadly Crash on Interstate 680 in Vine Hill

VINE HILL, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2023) — A fatal crash involving several vehicles happened Tuesday morning on the northbound Interstate 680 Freeway, just south of Pacheco Boulevard in Vine Hill.

The two-vehicle crash occurred in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes at around 9:33 a.m. on Dec. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a white SUV, a white dually utility truck and possibly, a third vehicle were involved in the crash.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene and located the SUV with major front-end damage and the dually truck with major right rear damage from the collision.

At least one person sustained major injuries and died at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, tow trucks removed both of the damaged vehicles and investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on the 680 Freeway.
