Two-Vehicle Crash at Cherry Avenue in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2025) — A 20-year-old who was allegedly drunk driving died early Sunday morning in a crash involving a rideshare vehicle at South Cherry Avenue and American Avenue in Fresno County.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on Dec. 14th at 1:30 a.m. at the Fresno County intersection.

The young man was reportedly driving a Chevrolet sedan at high speed northbound on Cherry Avenue.

Authorities believe the motorist failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a 38-year-old rideshare driver behind the wheel of a Nissan sedan. The Nissan had been heading eastbound on American Avenue and was carrying three passengers, police said.

Paramedics responded and confirmed the death of the driver from the Chevrolet at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Meanwhile, the driver and the passengers from the Nissan were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation.
