Fatal Crash at Soledad Canyon Road, Rainbow Glen Drive in Santa Clarita

Christina Burbano Jeffrey, 50, Killed in Collision; Two Injured
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2026) – Christina Burbano Jeffrey, 50, died and two others were injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash on Soledad Canyon Road at Rainbow Glen Drive in Canyon Country area near Santa Clarita.
The woman who died was a violinist and music instructor at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
The four-vehicle crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8th, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. One witness told authorities that a suspected DUI driver in a white Honda CR-V, traveling in the wrong direction, collided head-on with other motorists.
Detectives closed down eastbound Soledad Canyon Road between Prima Way and Golden Oak Road.
The 50-year-old woman was transported to a hospital where she died upon arrival. Meanwhile, two others were injured in the collision, one of them with major injuries and the other with less serious injuries. Both of them were transported to a hospital for further treatment.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Valley Division is handling the investigation. Witnesses or anyone with video footage of the crash should contact the SCV Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Office at 661:260:4000.
