1 Killed, 3 Injured in Crash at Tulare County Intersection
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2023) — A 3-vehicle crash left one person dead and three injured Sunday night at Avenue 196 and Road 204 near Plainview in Tulare County.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 10th, just north of Porterville, according to the California Highway Patrol. The drivers of a black Ford Escape, a white Ford Focus, and a blue Chevrolet Equinox were involved.
An unidentified person died at the scene of the collision, according to a post by the Tulare County Fire Department.
Two of the three cars involved overturned and one of them hit a pole. The Ford Focus reportedly lost its engine and front wheels in the crash.
Meanwhile, the Tulare County Fire Department sent paramedics and firefighters to the scene. They extricated three people from the vehicles who were trapped and suffering major injuries. One person died at the scene and the others including one with minor injuries were taken to a hospital.
Fire officials requested the closure of Avenue 196 due to the ongoing investigation.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up an investigation.
