Fatal Crash East 17th Street, Downtown Los Angeles; Metro Bus

Minivan, Metro Bus Accident in Downtown LA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2023) — One person was killed and four others were injured in a crash between a minivan and Metro bus on East 17th Street in downtown Los Angeles.

The collision occurred at around 5:11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5th, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The LAFD responded to the two-vehicle collision and located one person trapped in the minivan. Five people suffered injuries and one of them died at the scene. Three people were transported to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The female bus driver was hurt but declined treatment at the scene.

Meanwhile, investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department are heading up the investigation into what happened and will determine fault.

The name of the person who died was not released.
