2 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on East North Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (May 17, 2024) — Two people were killed and two were injured Thursday after a fatal two-vehicle crash on East North Avenue and De Wolf Avenue near Sanger in Fresno County.
UPDATE: Lizbeth Sanchez, 30, and Santiago Martinez Ceja, 38, who are both from Los Banos, died in the crash.
The deadly crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16th at the Fresno County intersection just southwest of Sanger, according to ABC 30 News.
The California Highway Patrol reported a driver in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling eastbound on North Avenue the vehicle crashed into a red Mitsubishi that entered the intersection from northbound DeWolf Avenue.
Police officers do not know whether the Mitsubishi stopped at the stop sign before crossing the intersection into the path of the pickup truck.
Unfortunately, the man and woman traveling in the Mitsubishi died following the collision.
Meanwhile, the driver and a passenger from the pickup truck suffered moderate to major injuries and were transported to a hospital.
Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on North Avenue near Sanger.
