Pickup Truck Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in Crash with Semi-Truck
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2024) — A man was killed and another injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon involving a semi-truck at West Elkhorn and South Howard avenues in Fresno County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at a dangerous curve in the Riverdale area around 3:08 p.m. at the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man driving a Ford pickup truck had reportedly drove into the intersection into the path of an oncoming big rig truck that did not have a stop sign.
The semi-truck crashed into the man’s pickup truck and both occupants from the Ford were trapped.
Paramedics responded and confirmed the driver of the pickup died at the scene, but his passenger survived with minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
There were no other injuries reported following the crash.
Investigators do not suspect drugs and alcohol were a factor in the accident.
