Fatal Crash Elkhorn Boulevard, Andrea Boulevard in North Highlands
2 Killed in Car Accident at North Highlands Intersection
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2024) – A fatal crash involving three vehicles left two men dead Sunday on Elkhorn Boulevard in North Highlands.
Two others were injured in the deadly crash that occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 4th,near Andrea Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol and CBS News.
CHP officials reported a man in his 30s was allegedly driving his Honda Civic recklessly while traveling east on Elkhorn Boulevard. The car reportedly sideswiped a Nissan and both cars veered into the path of a westbound Ford Maverick.
The man in his 50s driving the Ford sustained major injuries and died at the scene and a woman in her 50s traveling with him was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
The man driving the Honda also died following the crash, but the Nissan’s driver survived with minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Tow trucks removed the three vehicles with major damage.
Investigators confirmed that weather was not a factor, but reckless driving was likely to blame.
