LOS ANGELES (April 6, 2023) – Two young women died early Thursday in a solo-vehicle car crash on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway in South Los Angeles.

Stephanie Guerra, 19, and Ashley Salinas, 18, were later identified as the victims who died in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 1:40 a.m. on April 6th.

The vehicle crashed into an embankment near Gage Avenue and overturned onto its side, while both women were ejected from the car in an area between Vernon and 51st Street.

Furthermore, an oncoming southbound vehicle then struck the women in the roadway, officials said. The 29-year-old man driving the second vehicle stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The two women were pronounced dead at the scene. There are no further details about the crash at this time.
