Deadly Crash Semi Truck, Car on Highway 101
CARPINTERIA, Calif. (March 18, 2022) — A fatal crash happened between a semi-truck and a car on Highway 101 early Friday morning in the Carpinteria Valley.
The crash happened about 2:15 a.m. on March 18th near the Padaro Lane off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 and both vehicles went off the roadway, the CHP said.
The traffic accident happened near the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. Train traffic was stopped in the area for a short duration so that crews could clear the tracks, the CHP said.
Authorities report that one person died in the crash.
