Deadly Collison on State Route 108
Tuolumne County, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) — A fatal crash happened Sunday morning on Highway 108 at Rushing Hill Lookout Road in Jamestown, Tuolumne County.
The traffic accident occurred around 3:43 a.m. on Sept. 24th, near Katherine Johnson Farm, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a taxi driver “possibly hit a vehicle” on the eastbound State Route 108. The driver reportedly pulled over and exited his vehicle. While checking the bumper, he reportedly found a woman trapped underneath the vehicle, the report said.
Cal Fire sent paramedics to the scene and they performed CPR on the victim and airlifted her to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. Unfortunately, it appears that the woman later died at the hospital based on the final status of the CHP report.
Investigators with the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Dept. are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 108.
