BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2024) — An 84-year-old man died last Friday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 Friday near Arroyo Avenue in Mojave.
The victim was riding as a passenger in a southbound 2018 Mitsubishi sedan driven by 53-year-old Sherry Marie Adams of Lancaster.
The Mitsubishi was attempting a left-hand turn into the Stater Bros. grocery store parking lot, according to the California Highway Patrol. That’s when the car collided with an oncoming northbound Infiniti sedan driven by 53-year-old Nathan Reyes of California City.
The deadly two-vehicle crash occurred at around 3:34 p.m. on Feb. 16th, according to the CHP and Bakersfield Now.
Paramedics responded and located the elderly man with major injuries. Police say he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Unfortunately, he died following the accident, but the Kern County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s name at this time.
Traffic investigators are working to determine fault for the Mojave crash on Highway 14 and they are asking witnesses to call CHP Mojave at (661) 823-5500.
