The crash took place about 4:52 a.m. this morning, near the Ricardo Campground at Red Rock Canyon State Park.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after multiple callers called 911. Roughly an hour after the accident was reported, police contacted the Kern County Coroner to respond to the scene as at least one person died of their injuries. The report does not specify how many people were in the vehicle or if there were any injuries involved.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
