1 Dead, 3 Injured in Violent Crash on Highway 18
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (May 28, 2024) — A fatal two-vehicle traffic crash happened Saturday morning on Highway 18 and Milpas Drive in Apple Valley.
A woman was killed, a man was airlifted to a trauma center and two others had minor injuries, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The traffic accident occurred at about 6:57 a.m., on May 25th between the drivers of a white Dodge Ram 1500 and a silver 2015 Toyota RAV4 SUV.
The Apple Valley Fire Protection District sent firefighters to the intersection and they located an overturned pickup truck on the dirt shoulder. The SUV was located several hundred feet away with major damage from the collision.
Authorities believe the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on State Route 18, while the SUV was heading northbound on Milpas Drive at the time of the collision.
Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene and assisted three others for minor to major injuries.
A man who was in the Toyota was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries.
Finally, two people from the pickup truck had minor injuries, but declined an ambulance to take them to the hospital.
