One Killed in 2-Vehicle Car Accident on Highway 216
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2023) — A 30-year-old man died on Halloween night in a crash on Highway 216 in Ivanhoe, Tulare County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 7 pm on Oct. 31st at Beechwood Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the 30-year-old man and a one-year-old toddler were traveling together in a black, lifted Ford F-250 pickup truck at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was heading southbound on Highway 216 and did not have any headlights on, according to ABC 30 News.
Meanwhile, a second driver in a gray Toyota 4 Runner SUV was traveling northbound on the same highway and told authorities they did not see the Ford before turning into the path of the car onto Beechwood Avenue.
The two vehicles collided and the Ford overturned multiple times. The 30-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle and sustained major injuries.
Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, but he later died from his injuries. However, a one-year-old child riding in the Ford survived the crash with only minor injuries.
There were no injuries reported from the Toyota.
