Deadly Crash on Highway 395 in Mono County
MONO COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2021) — A fatal crash on Highway 395 happened Friday morning when a pickup and trailer overturned near Deadman Summit in Mono County.
The traffic accident happened about 5:06 a.m. on Nov. 12th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported the driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck pulling a trailer loaded with firewood crashed and the vehicle and trailer overturned in the roadway. It’s unknown how many vehicles collided at this time, but both vehicles had blown out tires. Police say firewood and other debris from the trailer blocked the roadway.
At least one person died in the collision, but there are no further details provided in the CHP report at this time. Authorities closed down the southbound lanes of Highway 395 in front of the Deadman sledding area.
Investigators seek to determine fault for the crash.
