Fiery Highway 395 Crash in Madeline
LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 3, 2021) — A fatal crash on Highway 395 Friday morning sparked a brush fire and left at least one person dead.
The collision happened about 6:28 a.m. on September 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported a woman was ejected from the vehicle and a male was pinned inside of it. The vehicle wound up roughly 50 feet off the roadway and down an embankment. The CHP dispatch said the vehicle was “missing the entire front end.”
The report does not mention if any other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
At least one person died at the scene, but it’s unknown if the other person survived or was hospitalized. The age and identity of the two people is unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, firefighters responded to extinguish the brush fire after the vehicle erupted in flames.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the fatal crash on Highway 395.
