Man, 25, Killed, Woman Hurt on SR-41 in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2024) — A 25-year-old man is dead and a woman was injured in a crash Sunday night on Highway 41 in Fresno County.
The traffic accident occurred just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3rd at Mountain View Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported Robert Garcia IV, 25, of Fowler, was likely speeding behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Camaro sedan. The northbound car was traveling on Highway 41 when the young man allegedly drove through a red light and crashed into a Nissan SUV. The Camaro also crashed into a light pole and the vehicle split into two pieces.
A 34-year-old woman was driving the Nissan with two children riding as passengers in the SUV, the report said.
Unfortunately, the young man died at the scene, but the woman survived with minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. The two children did not suffer any known injuries.
Investigators closed down some of Highway 41 and Mountain View Avenue to conduct their crash investigation.
