Man, 83, Killed in Chain-Reaction Collision
MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2024) – An 83-year-old Madera man died Friday in a chain-reaction crash on Highway 41, just south of Children’s Boulevard in Madera County.
The 3-vehicle collision occurred just before 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported a driver in a 2007 GMC Canyon was northbound on Highway 41, followed by a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and the elderly Madera man driving a 2002 Honda Accord.
The driver of the Honda apparently, didn’t notice traffic slowing down in front of his car.
The Honda reportedly crashed into the rear of the Chevrolet Tahoe, pushing it into the back of the GMC Canyon after those two vehicles slowed and stopped in traffic.
Paramedics responded and transported the injured driver from the Honda to a local hospital, but he died from his injuries.
Meanwhile, the other two drivers were treated for minor injuries.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
