Two Killed in Car Accident on State Route Highway 43
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2024) — Two people are dead after a fatal three-vehicle crash at Highway 43 near Avenue 56 in Tulare County.
The traffic accident occurred at 12:03 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 16th on Highway 43, just north of Allensworth, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers of a grey GMC Canyon pickup truck, a grey sedan and another car were involved in the collision.
The Tulare County Fire Department responded and found people in at least two of the vehicles trapped and they confirmed two people dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Margarita Lopez Gil, who turned 60 today, was transported by helicopter to a hospital due to serious injuries.
Both lanes of Highway 43 were closed for the fatal crash investigation, but it has since reopened.
