2-Vehicle Placerville Crash on Highway 50
PLACERVILLE, Calif. (July 8, 2021) — A fatal crash on Highway 50 at Kyburz Drive happened Thursday morning in Placerville.
The head-on collision happened about 2:23 a.m. on July 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported at least one person became trapped in a vehicle following the collision. It’s unknown what led up to the accident involving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck and another motorist.
Both lanes of the roadway became blocked by the disabled vehicles. One person died at the crash scene and at least one person suffered injuries.
Investigators seek to determine what caused the collision, but there is no further information at this time.
