1 Dead, 3 Hurt in Crash on State Route 99
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (August 21, 2023) — A fatal crash on Highway 99 happened Sunday morning on Highway 99 near French Camp Road between Stockton and Manteca.
The deadly crash occurred in the northbound lanes of SR-99 just after 9 a.m. on August 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
2-Vehicle Fatal Crash on Highway 99
Two motorists including a white Honda Accord and a red Ford F-150 pickup truck collided in the northbound lanes of Highway 99. Authorities were told the driver in the Honda was traveling in the fast lane when for unknown reasons, the driver allegedly swerved into the slow lane and collided with the pickup truck, the CHP report said. Both vehicles crashed into a fence.
Paramedics with the Stockton Fire Department responded to help four people injured in the crash including the driver of the Honda Accord who died at the scene.
Three occupants from the Ford pickup truck suffered minor injuries in the wreck, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 99.
The identity of the driver who died was not released, pending notification of family members.
