Fatal Crash I-10 Freeway, Near Cactus City in Riverside County
Fatal Rollover Collision on Redlands Freeway Eastbound
CACTUS CITY, Calif., (July 30, 2026) — A fatal rollover crash involving two vehicles occurred Tuesday morning on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Cactus City Crossover, mile marker 71.
A female passenger was killed, and two drivers were injured
The incident, reported on July 30th at approximately 6:58 a.m., involved a Kia Forte that reportedly rear-ended a Tesla Model 3 at high speed. Both vehicles overturned, one of which was found overturned on its roof and the other on its side. A female passenger from the Kia was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries.
The collision resulted in the blockage of all lanes to facilitate the landing of a medical evacuation helicopter. Emergency responders, including Cal Fire and California Highway Patrol (CHP), were dispatched to the scene. Despite their swift actions, the coroner was called to the location shortly after the incident at 7:21 a.m., after the passenger from the Kia was confirmed dead.
Paramedics transported both drivers to the hospital with moderate to major injuries.
The names and ages of the individuals involved have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The California Highway Patrol has since reopened all lanes after the removal of the vehicles and the completion of initial investigations.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are seeking any witnesses who may have seen the collision or have information related to the incident.
