Fatal Crash in Tulare on Highway 99, north of Bardsley Avenue

Minivan, Construction Vehicle Collide on Highway 99
TULARE, Calif. (May 1, 2025) – One man is dead and another injured after a minivan hit a construction vehicle on Highway 99, north of Bardsley Avenue in Tulare.
The Visalia California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at an active construction zone on Highway 99 around 11:30 p.m. on April 30th.
Traffic investigators reported a man driving a Nissan minivan was traveling southbound in the number two lane when the vehicle collided with a worker driving a construction vehicle, subcontracted by Caltrans.
The front of the Nissan crashed into the right rear of the construction vehicle, the report said.
Paramedics responded and transported the driver from the Nissan to Adventist Health Tulare, however, he later died from his injuries. Meanwhile, the construction worker was treated for minor injuries.
The CHP Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation. It’s unknown if the construction vehicle was sticking out into the number two lane or if the minivan veered into the construction zone.
