10-Car Pileup Collision in Upland
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (June 26, 2023) — One person is dead and six others were injured Sunday night in a 10-car pileup crash on the Interstate 10 Freeway in Upland.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 8:09 p.m. on June 25th in San Bernardino County, according to KTLA 5 News.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department responded and located crashed vehicles on both sides of the Interstate 10 Freeway, just west of Euclid Avenue.
The first 911 called reported collision on the westbound side of the freeway. Just minutes later, a second call to 911 reported more vehicles involved on the eastbound side.
The traffic accident was classified as a mass-casualty incident. Several people were trapped in their vehicles and firefighters had to extricate them. Unfortunately, one person died and a second person suffered major injuries.
Paramedics transported three people to a hospital and treated three others at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into fault for the Upland crash on the Interstate 10 Freeway in San Bernardino County.
